City won the 2011 FA Cup courtesy of a 75th minute strike by Yaya Toure. Regardless of what happens in the future this was a historic victory for the club as, for the first time in a generation, a City captain lifted a piece of major silverware.

All the players contributed in a thoroughly professional team performance of which Roberto Mancini could be proud. There may have been few clear-cut chances and only the one goal, but this was an assured display far removed from our usual travails against Tony Pulis' side.

Hart - Joe was out quick and stood up well to make his one key save of the match against Jones. Elsewhere his judgement was excellent on when to come for crosses. 7

Richards - Pushed up and kept a half-fit Etherington on the back foot throughout. Did his share of winning the aerial battles too. 7

Thirty years after our last FA Cup Final, Roberto Mancini has guided us back to Wembley to take on Stoke for that most elusive of items - silverware. The excitement amongst City fans is at it's greatest for a generation.

After securing a top four place with Tuesday's win over Tottenham, all our energy and focus can safely be channelled to defeating Stoke. It won't be easy.

City secured their finest victory in the Sheikh Mansour era thanks to a Yaya Toure strike early in the second half. The prize is a return to Wembley to take on Stoke in our first FA Cup final since 1981.

Truth be told neither side brought their best game to the final. United were stronger in the opening half hour while we had the better of the same period in the second half. The difference was Yaya Toure taking our golden chance while Berbatov fluffed theirs.

Hart - Made two tremendous saves at crucial times against Berbatov and Nani. The rollocking he was giving his team-mates in the closing minutes for not retaining possession demonstrated a real hunger for victory on his other home ground. 9

Zabaleta - Not surprisingly Pablo looked a little rusty at first and equally unsurprising was the way he grew into the game. Embodied the spirit of the day with a host of telling challenges. 8

The first ever derby to be played at Wembley is set to prove the greatest test thus far for Roberto Mancini and his team. Since the draw was made United have hit top form, while Mancini suffered his worst match as City manager on Monday - and Tevez is missing.

Once again we are portrayed as the underdogs, with the media talking of a United treble. It's worth remembering that in the last derby at Old Trafford we were equal to United, losing only to an overhead shot by Rooney, and that's not going to happen this time.

City booked their first appearance at the new Wembley, and their first FA Cup semi-final since 1981 courtesy of a Micah Richards header from a David Silva corner. Reading provided spirited opposition but the return of Nigel de Jong helped ease City through.

Signs of fatigue were inevitable in a City side who had only returned from the Ukraine at 5am on Friday morning. Mancini sought to refresh his side intelligently with four changes in the shape of Vieira, de Jong, Wright-Phillips and Tevez.

Hart - Excellent protection ensured only one routine save was required. Provided some well-directed distribution to Yaya's head. 6

Richards - Focused on keeping the dangerous looking McAnuff quiet in the first half. Micah scoring with a header from a corner has been coming for a while now, and this was the perfect time. 7

On paper a home tie against Championship opposition might look like an straightforward tie. The reality is different for a City side currently on a run of tired performances and having only arrived back from the Ukraine at 5am on Friday.

As a result, it's to be hoped that Mancini endeavours to refresh the side. The most welcome returnee would be Nigel de Jong. Boateng, Vieira, Boyata and Jo all missed out in Kiev and should be considered. Tevez and Wright-Phillips only made substitute appearances and would be fresher than the likes of Barry and Yaya.

If City continue to progress in the FA Cup and Europa League then they're likely to have to play twice a week every week until the end of the season. The league games against Tottenham and Stoke would need to be moved to accommodate cup games with the only available slots being around Wednesday 20 April for Spurs and Wednesday 11 May for Stoke.

Having not played in a cup final since 1981, City could face the ridiculous situation of having to play two before the final league game at Bolton! A replay against Reading could leave City playing three games in one week.
