City today announced an agreement with the council and New East Manchester to develop the area around Eastlands. Precise plans have yet to be confirmed but could include expanding the stadium capacity to 60,000 with a vast new training complex being built opposite.

City link up with mobile phone operator and Ian Rush in quest for talent

One of the more improbable news stories this week claimed Ian Rush, at the behest of mobile phone operator Digicel, has recomended six youngsters from Central America for a 10-day trial at Platt Lane. Rush apparently visited Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador and Panama on behalf of the Blues.
Brian Kidd returns to City

According to the official site, Brian Kidd has taken up the role of Technical Development Manager with the Blues Academy.
This appears to be part of an ongoing overhaul of the Academy that has already seen Jim Cassell move to Abu Dhabi and Andy Welsh take over at Platt Lane.
