Player ratings: Liverpool v Manchester City
Hart – Saved the best till last with a series of excellent stops to ensure we earned a point. 9
Richards – Kept Downing quiet and made a solid return after missing out against Napoli. 7
Clichy – Another steady performance. Remained unruffled by the attentions of Kuyt. 7
Lescott – Needlessly tried to clear Charlie Adam’s shot for the own goal and almost conceded a couple more in the second half. Wrong end Joleon! 6
Kompany – At least he scored in the right net. Given a difficult afternoon by the theatrics of Suarez but stood firm under the late onslaught. 7
Milner – The former long distance runner is one of our few midfielders who appears able to play twice in a week. Another diligent showing. 7
Barry – Ought to have been fresh after not starting the last two games. Disappointing to see him fade in the second half. 6
Y Toure – Running on empty in the second half and perhaps should have made way for de Jong. 6
Nasri (Balotelli 65) – Once again when Silva was in the team, Samir remained on the periphery. Mancini needs to find a role which gets more out of the Frenchman. 6
Silva (K Toure 90) – If only he could have taken the late chance in the same way he did at QPR, then we might have sneaked a win. Struggled to find the killer pass against a well organised Liverpool back line. 7
Aguero (Dzeko 83) – Looked dangerous early on. Struggled in the second half as he failed to get the support he needs. 6
Balotelli – One silly booking and one harsh ensured Mario’s appearance was brief. Whether he deserved to go or not, the fact that he wasn’t able to produce anything of note whilst on the pitch was disappointing. 5
Dzeko – Came on at the wrong time, given we were about to go down to 10 men. Still managed one great run and pass to Silva. 6
K Toure – A brief appearance to close out the final moments.
Man of the match: Joe Hart.
